(12-26-24) Mercer County Engineer Jim Wiechart was recently sworn in for the four-year term commencing in 2025.  Mercer County Commissioner Jerry Laffin administered the oath surrounded by family, friends and coworkers.  The ceremony was held at the Mercer County Engineer’s Office.  

Wiechart stated-

“I am both humbled and driven to do the best I can in public service over the next four years.”  

Wiechart has worked in Mercer County since 1999 and has served as County Engineer since 2002.  

Wiechart has overseen 252 bridge projects and has been instrumental in Mercer County receiving $38,737,762.53 in Federal Highway Administration Funds.
