(11-29-25) In a plea deal Derrick Alan Miller (42) Portland pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct with a minor, a Level 5 felony carrying up to six years in prison.

The plea agreement called for Miller to receive a four-year sentence: two years of incarceration followed by two years on probation.

Jay Circuit Court records indicated that Miller in July kissed and later fondled a 15-year-old co-worker at a Richards Restaurant. Portland Police said that Miller had been convicted of a sex crime in Michigan twenty years ago.

Miller received credit for time served in the Jay County Jail since July 14.
