(11-20-24) Ohio’s unemployment rate was 4.3% in October 2024, down from 4.5% in September 2024. Ohio’s nonagricultural wage and salary employment increased 6,400 over the month, from a revised 5,675,600 in September to 5,682,000 in October.

The labor force participation rate in Ohio was 62.5%, up from 62.4% in September 2024 and up from 61.8% in October 2023. During the same period, the national labor force participation rate was 62.6%, down from 62.7% in September 2024 and down from 62.7% in October 2023.

Mercer County, along with Medina, and Geauga Counties tied for the lowest unemployment rate in Ohio at 2.3 %.
