(11-18-24) At 30 weeks into Leah’s (Leah is a graduate of Celina HS and the Tri Star welding program) pregnancy, Cameron rushed her to the hospital for a pounding headache and seeing lights. Numerous tests were run determining that while Leah was 30 weeks pregnant, her baby was only coming in at 24 weeks. Due to dated ultrasound machinery, she had to be relocated to another hospital (via ambulance), where they concluded that Leah’s placenta had been back drawing with every heartbeat, leaving the baby with insufficient nourishment to grow. After more tests were run, they also discovered that Leah had severe pre-eclampsia with HELLP (where the liver begins to shut down).
Support Baby Faith & Family (Wt:1 lb, 10.6 oz)❤️Leah&Cameron — https://gofund.me/5d4e2778
An emergency c-section was administered Sunday afternoon, 11/3/24 and precious Faith came into the world weighing 1 pound, 12 ounces.
Faith started out with jaundice, taking in 2mL of milk and is now up to 12mL, while still being on the CPAP breathing machine and other medical devices in the NICU. While she is making good progress and amazing the medical staff and her parents everyday, she still has a long road ahead.
Ronald McDonald House has graciously offered to house Leah & Cameron for the time being so they can be 10 mins from the hospital to visit Faith (eliminating the travel of 1.5 hours from their home to the hospital), while Leah is still being monitored for her health/blood pressure which is still sporadic and elevated. Leah and Cameron are beyond grateful, recognizing that these accommodations are only possible through donor support.
As you can imagine, the cost for the ambulance ($16,000 alone), along with C-Section surgery, ongoing medical tests for Leah and baby Faith, NICU extended stay medical expenses and other expenses in the foreseeable future will be significant.
Baby Faith’s name couldn’t be more fitting. Her eagerness to fight and take hold of life is increasing the faith of those witnessing it each and every day! Any monetary support you can provide would be tremendously appreciated as Faith continues the fight.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support. Leah, Cameron & Faith appreciate it more than can be expressed.
