COLUMBUS (11-5-24) – State Representative Angie King (R-Celina) is working to help Ohioans keep more money in their pocket by supporting legislation that will revise income tax law for overtime work.

The new legislation, introduced by State Representatives Nick Santucci (R-Howland Twp) and Tex Fischer (R-Boardman) would eliminate state income tax on overtime pay for Ohioans.

King said-

“This will ease the tax burden on hourly employees, putting more of their hard-earned overtime pay directly into their pockets. This tax break will incentivize employees to work extended hours, providing an expanded labor force for employers, effectively expanding the labor pool for employers without requiring additional recruitment and training. It’s a win-win situation.”

This legislation is awaiting a House committee assignment.
