(10-16-24) A Shelby County married couple, Sherry Tracy (57) and Thomas Tracy Jr. (56), died in a propane tank home explosion around 2 a.m. on Tuesday in Salem Township.
Two dogs also perished in the explosion.
Firefighters worked into daylight hours to put out the fire that resulted after the house exploded on the 17000 block of Sharp Road. Burning debris was thrown hundreds of feet from the blast.
Firefighters from Jackson Center, Van Buren Township, Maplewood, Port Jefferson and Sidney responded to the explosion.
The Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the incident.
