(10-6-24) Coldwater EMS announced the addition of two Stryker Xpedition powered stair chairs to their equipment list. The purchase of the powered stair chairs was made possible by an Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation Safety Intervention Grant in the amount of $25,331.01 and funding from the Tony Stewart Foundation and Racing for Relief in the amount of $8,442.67 derived from sales of 50/50 tickets at Eldora Speedway by our members and their families.
The new powered stair chairs will assist Coldwater EMS members when needing to move patients from locations where the ambulance stretcher will not fit. Training for Coldwater EMS members on how to use the new powered stair chairs is underway thanks to Ben from Styker, who is also a FireFighter Paramedic, which will allow us to put them into service.
Below are pictured the new powered stair chairs and the older stair chairs which these units will be replacing.

Also modeling the different harness/chair styles to show off the difference is one of our EMT-Basic students Mason Ayers who is currently in the process of completing his EMT-B.
