(10-15-24) Yesterday at 4:44pm. Van Wert County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Middle Point Fire and EMS responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on State Route 116 west of Poe Road in Ridge Township.

A 2017 Kia Soul driven by Stephanie Closson of Delphos, was West-Bound on St. Rt. 116 near Poe Rd. A 2013 Ford Fusion driven by Shira Winn of Van Wert, was East-Bound on St. Rt. 116 near Poe Rd. Closson went left of center striking Winn in the driver’s side of the car causing disabling damage. Closson’s vehicle spun facing the opposite direction before coming to rest off the side of the roadway. Winn’s vehicle went off the right side of the roadway coming to a rest against a sign.

Closson was treated at the scene for minor injuries by Middle Point EMS, Winn was transported to Van Wert Health by Middle Point EMS for possible minor injuries.

Closson’s vehicle was towed from scene by 2 A’s Towing, while Winn’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Straightline Body and Paint.

Closson was issued a citation for marked lanes violation.
