(10-14-24) Friday morning at 10:52 am Van Wert County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Wren and Willshire Fire, and Ohio City Fire and EMS responded to State Route 49 at Jackson Street in the Village of Wren for a motor vehicle crash.

A 2001 Dodge Dakota driven by Darvon Light of Decatur Indiana was east bound on West Jackson Street. A 2017 Freightliner Semi driven by David Lichtensteiger of Harrison Township was south bound on SR 49. Light, also had a flashing red light at the intersection, stopped at the stop sign and then proceeded, failing to yield. Lichtensteiger said he saw Light come to the stop sign and the pickup pulled out in front of him. Lichtensteiger had a flashing yellow light at the intersection.

Light was transported to Adams County Memorial Hospital by Ohio City EMS.
