(10-15-24) UPDATED — Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey reports the arrest of an individual this weekend on multiple charges.  On Saturday, October 12th at 7:12 PM, a Mercer County Deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Us Rte 127 and St Rte 274, in Marion Township.  The vehicle was being driven by William D. McSwain (21) of Dayton, OH. 

Through the traffic investigation, it was discovered that the 2009 white Acura sedan McSwain was driving was an unreported stolen vehicle from the Dayton, OH area.  The Morrow Police Department was called to assist and officers were able to contact the vehicle owner, confirming the vehicle was in fact stolen.  The deputy determined McSwain also appeared to be driving impaired and was driving under suspension.  He was subsequently arrested for misdemeanor OVI, DUS, and felony receiving stolen property.  The vehicle was towed from the scene and McSwain was transported to the Mercer County Adult Detention Facility to be booked in. McSwain is being held on a $10,000 subj to 10% bond for the misdemeanor charges in Celina Municipal Court and is being held on no bond for the felony receiving stolen property charge in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.  He has a preliminary hearing in Common Pleas Court set for Friday, October 18th at 1:30PM. 

(10-12-24) William McSwain (21) was arrested today by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office on two different charges.

First charge was a 1st degree misdemeanor of driving while under the influence, the second charge is a 5th degree felony charge of receiving stolen property.

He is awaiting court appearances in Celina Municipal Court and Mercer County Common Pleas Court.

He is being held without bond at the Mercer County Adult Detention Center.
