(10-9-24) Retired WHIO-TV reporter Steve Baker was honored by Honor Flight Dayton on Tuesday.

Honor Flight Dayton – Our Mission is to take veterans who served anytime from the beginning of WWII (12/7/1941) through the end of the Vietnam Era (5/7/75) to see the national memorials in Washington, DC.

Baker spent 50 years in broadcasting. Including WPTW Radio in Piqua back in 1970, In 1980 WHIO-TV he started covering the northern Miami Valley (including Mercer and Auglaie Counties) for WHIO-TV. Baker retired from TV in 2017 but would continue working under a contract with the station until December 2020.

Baker is a U.S. Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1970.
