(10-4-2004) Robert M. Vore (29) of Portland was riding a 2012 Harley-Davidson south on County Road 200 South when a deer ran in front of his path.
Vore crashed into the deer and lost control of his cycle, causing him to leave the road.
According to the Jay County Sheriff’s Deputies…Vore smelled of alcohol and was administered a preliminary breath test which indicated a 0.128% breath alcohol content.
Legal Limits In Indiana, as in the rest of the nation, if you have a BAC of 0.08%, you are not permitted to drive. While the legal limit is set at 0.08%, it’s important for drivers to understand that alcohol affects your ability to drive even if you’re under the limit.
Vore complained of head pain and had visible marks on his forehead and was transported to IU
Health Jay and administered a blood alcohol test.
Vore was arrested on Thursday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor and is being held on a $1,000 bond in the Jay County Jail.

Vore’s motorcycle was towed, with damage estimated between $5,000 and $10,000. No report on the condition of the deer.

Who cares.
