(10-1-24) The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department booked Mark Sholler (58) on Sunday and he is being held on 2nd degree felony charge of felonious assault.
Felonious Assault: Felonious Assault is typically categorized as a second degree felony. The potential penalties include a prison term for up to eight years, a fine up to $15,000 and community control (probation) for up to five years. There are many circumstances which elevate the level of this offense and the possible penalties. Those circumstances are described in Ohio Revised Code section 2903.11.
The prosecution must prove you knowingly caused serious physical harm to another person or you knowingly caused or attempted to cause physical harm to another person by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance.
Sholler is being held in the Mercer County Adult Detention Center with no bond awaiting a Mercer County Common Pleas Court hearing.
