(9-23-24) Friday morning the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Ohio City Fire and EMS, and Van Wert Fire and EMS responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Mendon Road in York Township. A 2021 Ford Bronco driven by Leslie Ellen Weisenberger of Mendon was southbound on Mendon Rd. Just south of 18142 Mendon Rd., Weisenberger left the right side of the roadway striking a mailbox post and then struck two trees causing it to spin back onto the roadway. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage.

Weisenberger was taken to the Van Wert Hospital for possible injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
