JAY COUNTY, Ind. (9-19-24) – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Milestone Contractors LP. plans to close a portion of State Road 1 in Jay County. 

Beginning on or after Friday, September 20, crews will close S.R. 1 in both directions between S.R. 18 and C.R. W. 650 N. This closure will allow crews to safely complete a pipe replacement. This work is expected to be complete by mid October, weather permitting. 

The official detour will follow S.R. 18 to U.S. 27 to S.R. 67 to S.R. 26.

INDOT reminds drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using caution and avoiding distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
