(9-16-24) In a Tweet today Ohio Governor Mike DeWine said…

Beginning tomorrow and continuing for the foreseeable future, the Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers will be stationed throughout the Springfield City School District. This is purely a precaution to prevent further disruption caused by unfounded bomb threats.

No financials was mentioned in what it would cost the state or how troops would be assigned to Springfield. The Federal Government has not offered any assistance to help with the situation.

The FBI is putting up BILLBOARDS written in HAITIAN CREOLE in Springfield encouraging people to “report hate crimes

According to a Law Enforcement Today article

In response, the FBI has been dispatched to the city, but not for the reasons one might think. According to The Liberty Daily, the agency has been sent to Springfield not to deal with the Haitian problem but to deal with city residents who are highlighting it.

On ABC’s this week DeWine defended the 20,000 Haitian immigrants that currently reside in Springfield.

In a news conference last week DeWine acknowledged that Springfield had recently received an “unprecedented” surge of around 15,000 Haitian immigrants, bringing a strain on healthcare providers, translators and rental availability. DeWine also allocated $2.5 million over the next two years for the Ohio Department of Health to assist the Clark County Health Department with a heightened demand for medical care. The Governor did not mention how he was able to allocate the funding for the situation.

In the recently published Ohio Report Cards for schools by the Ohio Department Of Education the Springfield City School District had a 2-star rating…based on a 1 to 5 scale with 5 being the highest.
