In a 2020 interview, Many criticized her for emitting an estimated 8,300 tons of carbon dioxide in 2022, over 1,000 times that of an average person. In a 2020 interview, Swift claimed that climate change was one of the most “horrific situations that we find ourselves facing.” While Swift clearly understands the severity and detriments of climate change, she has yet to take the necessary actions to combat it.
