(9-2-24) Amba Cook (45) is being held in the Mercer County Adult Detention Center and is facing several charges from both Darke County and Mercer County.

She is being held on charges from Darke County…a 3rd degree felony of Harassment by inmate..knowingly carries virus that causes AIDS , hepatitis virus, or infected with TB and causes or attempts to cause other person to come in contact with bodily substances.

She is being held on $30,000 cash bond and has a September 30th court hearing.

Cook appeared via video conference with the Mercer County Adult Detention Center on August 22nd where she pleaded guilty to one count of burglary, a felony of the second degree, that was amended to attempted burglary, a felony of the third degree. The possible sentencing she could face is nine to 36 months in prison and a $10,000 fine, all of which are not mandatory. Another possible sentence on the amended charges is community controlled sanctions for a period of up to 60 months.

Cook has had multiple arrests of the past several years on various charges.
