Fines for Brazilians who try to get around X blockage and to prevent the use of virtual private networks (VPNs) to circumvent the blockage, Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes said that individuals or companies that try to keep access to the social network that way could be fined up to $8,900 a day.

X’s CEO Linda Yaccarino said Friday night, adding that Brazil is failing to uphold its constitution’s pledge to forbid censorship.

“This is a sad day for X users around the world, especially those in Brazil, who are being denied access to our platform. I wish it did not have to come to this – it breaks my heart,”

Brazil In Turmoil—

White-collar crime groupls operate as mafias in Brazil, facilitating corruption and money laundering. Militias, which often include police officers, are involved in extortion and the extrajudicial killing of political candidates.

Country Summary:  Violent crime, such as murder, armed robbery, and carjacking, is common in urban areas, day and night. Gang activity and organized crime is widespread. Assaults, including with sedatives and drugs placed in drinks, are common. U.S. government personnel are discouraged from using municipal buses in all parts of Brazil due to an elevated risk of robbery and assault at any time of day, and especially at night.

The far- left-leaning Threads, a competitor to X, sees it users celebrating the ban in Brazil. Despite the current situation taking place in that country. Not surprising that those same users have a dislike for both T’X’itter and Elon Musk’s stand on freedom of speech.

Comments listed from Threads—(these are just a few posted today)

Elon Musk has allowed Twitter to become a cesspool filled with scams, porn and disinformation (political and otherwise).

Brazil put its foot down and demanded that this state of affairs must end.

Elon Musk chose to be a man baby and allowed Twitter to be suspended from Brazil.

Elon Musk: X will only censor content when required by law.
Brazil: OK, here’s a court order requiring censorship.
Elon Musk: GFY
