Lima, OH (8-28-24) – This morning in Lima, Ohio workers slammed Bernie Moreno for his long record of putting himself before Ohio workers. From “stiffing” his employees and shredding evidence to get out of paying them, to lying about selling Chinese-made cars that contributed to “Ohio jobs being shipped overseas,” Moreno has made it clear he won’t look out for Ohio workers.

Jeff Adams, President of UAW Local 1219
“Bernie Moreno is the wrong kind of person to represent Ohio workers.Moreno has a record of screwing over workers, stiffing their paychecks, and lying to Ohio workers. Ohio workers can’t trust Moreno to do right by us here in Lima.”
George Jeffries, CAP Council Chairperson on the UAW Lima Troy Area CAP Council
“Bernie Moreno is only looking out for himself and has screwed Ohio workers over time and time again . Moreno has no respect for working people and is willing to sell us out to make himself richer. Workers do not support Moreno because we can’t trust him to fight for us.”
Tiffany McKee, staff representative for the United Steelworkers and the Civil and Human Rights Coordinator for USW District 1
“Ohio workers deserve to know that Bernie Moreno does not have our backs and is not fit to represent us. Workers won’t be fooled by Moreno, who repeatedly stiffed his workers out of the pay they’d earned. The person we can trust is Sherrod Brown because he fights for steelworkers like myself and for all Ohio workers.”
What To Know About Bernie Moreno’s Record of Putting Himself Ahead of Workers
- Bernie Moreno has faced multiple lawsuits for stiffing workers – from “stiff[ing] [a former employee] out of money that Moreno personally promised him” and “improperly alter[ing]” documentation in retaliation for speaking out, to over a dozen wage theft lawsuits for refusing to pay his employees overtime they’d earned and deliberatelyshredding evidence he was legally required to keep to get out of paying them, to another lawsuit where Moreno “did not want to pay” an employee what he was owed.
- Moreno has also faced race, gender, and age discrimination lawsuits – in one instance for telling a woman who worked for him to “put your kids in f***ing daycare” after “she asked about flexibility in her work schedule.”
- Moreno repeatedly lied about refusing to sell the Chinese-made Buick Envision, an SUV that was always made in China. Moreno sold the car for years which contributed to “Ohio jobs being shipped overseas” and taken “away from Americans.”
- Moreno opposes the existence of a minimum wage.
- Moreno said he “reject[ed]” working across the aisle to get things done for Ohio workers.

LOL 4 workers or “actors “ call out Moreno more funnies from the Democrats.
