Jesse James Wright

(8-24-24) Yesterday at around 2:30 p.m. Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisting probation officers arrest a person who was wanted for a felony offense.

As a deputy was exiting his cruiser, the Chevy drove off with the suspect…the deputy followed in pursuit of the car, which was discovered to have been stolen out of Troy. During the pursuit the vehicle slid into a Jeep that was stopped at an intersection, disabling the Chevy.

The driver of the Chevy, Jesse James Wright (22) of Dayton, ran into a nearby wooded area and cornfield.

The passenger (name not released) was taken into custody for the probation warrant.

Using a drone and a police K9 officers were able bring Wright into custody.

Wright was booked into Shelby County Jail –
