(8-17-24) A Portland woman, Uquilder Lopez (20), lost control of the 2015 Chevrolet Express van she was driving on U.S. 27, causing her to leave the road and damage property at around 1:32 p.m. on Wednesday.

Lopez was driving south on the highway and was approaching a curve, her vehicle entered the west side of the road and she tried to over-correct, causing the vehicle to go across the road and exit on the east side.

Lopez drove through a ditch, striking an American Electric Power pole support wire and two large stuffed decorative horses owned by Bob Burkey.

Lopez was cited for driving without a valid license, the van she was driving was registered to Reynaldo Jiminez Luna of Portland and was towed from the scene.
