(8-16-24) A former Jay County Jail correctional officer, John R. Norris, (33) of Dunkirk, has been sentenced to one year of home detention for engaging in sexual acts with an inmate. Norris agreed to a plea deal in the case.

Norris, pleaded guilty on Wednesday in Jay Circuit Court to sexual misconduct, a Level 5 felony. Norris was charged in court February 21st with knowingly or intentionally engaging in sexual intercourse (oral sex) with an inmate. A change of plea was held on August 12th….Norris changed his plea from not guilty to guilty.
