(7-4-24) Union City – On June 30, 2024, officers from the Union City Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of Taffy Court in response to a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, the victim identified Todd Garner II as the suspect. Garner had fled the area prior to the officers’ arrival.

Garner was also suspected of possessing a stolen vehicle and evading officers and deputies in the early morning hours of June 30, 2024. Following these incidents, a complaint was filed with the Darke County Common Pleas Court, resulting in an arrest warrant being issued for Garner.
On July 3, 2024, officers received information regarding Garner’s location. He was found at a residence in the 200 block of E. Oak Street, Union City, Ohio. Upon realizing the officers’ presence, Garner ingested an unknown quantity of drugs in an attempt to conceal them. He was promptly taken to Wayne Health Emergency Department for evaluation before being booked into the custody of the Darke County Sheriff’s Jail.
The Union City Police Department is coordinating with the Darke County Prosecutor’s Office to review the multiple incidents involving Garner and will pursue any additional charges deemed appropriate
