COLUMBUS—(6-28-24) The Ohio House of Representatives recently passed Substitute House Bill 2, the state’s two-year construction budget for capital projects throughout the state. The Capital Budget will make historic investments in local community projects, announced State Representative Susan Manchester (R-Waynesfield).

Specifically, Manchester secured $700,950 to revitalize the Waynesfield Veterans Park. Project funding will be used to replace playground equipment, construct an open shelter with bathrooms, four parking lots, a gaga ball pit, concrete corn hole playing area, new bleachers for the baseball fields, a 9-hole disc golf course, an open shelter house, and a splash pad.

Representative Manchester comments when asked about the enhancement –

“I grew up going to many church picnics at the park, and loved when Waynesfield hosted a festival there years ago. I spent time there as a child and made memories that are still some of my favorites. I’m excited to watch the next generation make lifelong memories there too.”

Additionally, Manchester secured $19,914,783 for Allen County Projects, including:

· $200,000 for the Lima Schoonover Observatory Improvements

· $1,000,000 for the Allen County Airport Fuel Farm

· $440,000 for the Rhodes State Advanced Manufacturing Equipment and Lab

Substitute House Bill 2 was signed into law by the Governor.
