(6-26-24) Ohio’s unemployment rate stood at 4.2% for May, up 0.2% from April. The national unemployment rate was 4.0%.
Mercer County once again had Ohio’s lowest unemployment rate in May at 3.3% …tied with Wyandot County who was also at 3.3%.
Putnam County and Holmes County each had 3.5%, Van Wert County and Auglaize County for May had a 3.7% rate,
- Darke County – 4.1%
- Shelby County – 4.3%
- Allen County – 4.7%

The highest rates in Ohio were in Jefferson County and Meigs County both at 6.8%…followed by Monroe County 6.6%, Athens County 6.4% and Jackson County at 6.3%.
Indiana’s unemployment rate in May stood at 3.7%.
