(6-26-24) Jay County Civic Theatre elected three board members during its annual meeting Saturday evening.

Re-elected to the civic theatre board of directors were Casi Avery for her third three-year term and Sarah Lingo for her second three-year term. Newly elected to the board was Rachel Tebbe.

Other board members are Ray Cooney, Lee Osteen, Reid Knuth and Greg Rittenhouse.

Jay County Civic Theatre junior ambassadors for 2024-25 will be Inara Sanderson, Alison McGraw, Ella Littler, Aubrey Millspaugh, Leah Wubker, Lucy Fennig, Kaylynn Clark and Ava May. Olivia Smith, Jackson Sonner and Joscie LeFevre were elevated to become junior ambassador advisors.

The JCCT membership also unanimously approved updates to the organization’s bylaws and accepted volunteers for its various committees.

Board president Ray Cooney also provided a review of the organization’s 2023-24 season, which included productions of “A Christmas Story” and “Finding Nemo Jr.”

Also at the meeting, the board announced its scholarship winners for 2024. Olivia Smith received the Heather McLaughlin Memorial Scholarship. Joscie LeFevre, Jackson Sonner and Reid Knuth each received a Jay County Civic Theatre Merit Scholarship. All scholarships are for $250.

Upcoming Jay County Civic Theatre activities will include:
•Participating in the Jay County 4th of July parade
•Working at the gates during the Jay County Fair
•Performing in the Farmer’s Building on July 13 at the Jay County Fair
•Auditions for “The South of Music” on July 29 and 30 at Arts Place
The next Jay County Civic Theatre show will be “The Play That Goes Wrong” on Sept. 27, 28 and 29.
