(6-7-24) Janice Hicks (29) of Lima was arrested on two felony charges, one a 4th degree felony and the other a 5th degree felony, of receiving stolen property…a vehicle, a 2014 Dodge Journey. Hicks was pulled over by the Celina Police Department on June 5th after a report of suspicious activity on Bruns Avenue in Celina involving a suspect going door to door trying to get into apartments.
The vehicle that she was driving was identified as the stolen vehicle from St. John’s Road in Lima earlier that day when police ran a check on the license plates.
Hicks denied to the officers that she was not attempting to get into the apartments and that she knew the owner of the vehicle.
Hicks is being held in the Mercer County Adult Detention Center with no bond. She is scheduled for a hearing today at 2pm in Mercer County Common Pleas Court. The state’s bond request will be for $7,500 (10%) at the hearing.
