(6-2-24) The members of The University Women’s Club of Mercer County are pleased to announce their selections of young women who are receiving scholarship grants totaling $7500 for the 2024 school year.

The two $1,500 Evelyn Meyer’s scholarships for high school senior girls going into the field of Education were awarded to Celina High School’s Ava Knapke who is planning to attend The Ohio State University in Agricultural Education; and Celina High School’s Maddicyn Brumbaugh who is planning to attend Bowling Green State University with a major of History Education.

The two $1,500 University Women’s Club of Mercer County Scholarships for high school senior girls (any field) were awarded to Coldwater High School senior: Audrey Lefeld and Ft. Recovery High School graduate Allison Knapke. Audrey  will attend BGSU majoring in Pre-Law with a Music Minor. Allison will attend The Ohio State University majoring in Nursing and Agriculture.

The $1,500 Scholarship for a female COLLEGE Junior going into her Senior year, which requires a GPA above 3.0, an essay, and a college professor’s recommendation, for 2024, goes to: Lynn Schwieterman, from Celina, OH and who graduated from Marion Local High School. Lynn will be a senior in the Fall at University of St. Francis. She is studying nursing.

The UWC of Mercer County unites post secondary graduates of the vicinity for mutual educational benefits and encourages high school women from Mercer County to continue their education in two and four year degrees. Contact President Barb Phares at phares@bright.net for your welcoming invite.
