On Tuesday, May 28th, at about 5:00 pm, a female came into the Lima Police Department to report a domestic dispute. The female victim reported that her live-in boyfriend, Demarcus Williams, a 32 year old male from Memphis, Tennessee, assaulted her in their apartment, at 912 W. Wayne Street in Lima.

While taking the report, officers learned that Williams was still at the residence and he was also a Fugitive from Justice from Memphis Tennessee and also being sought by The United States Marshals for the same active warrants. Demarcus Williams was wanted for a multitude of charges including; Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Possession/Sale of Methamphetamine and Being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Officers went to the residence and attempted to make contact with Williams, however he fled to an upstairs apartment and barricaded himself inside. LPD detectives, along with the LPD SWAT and Hostage Negotiation Teams were called to the scene. After an approximate 3 hour stand-off, negotiators were able to diffuse the situation, talk Williams out of the apartment, and he was taken into custody without further incident.

Williams is currently being held at the Allen County jail for Domestic Violence, and as a Fugitive from Justice relating to the active warrants through Shelby County Tennessee (Memphis). Demarcus Williams will answer to any local charges first, and then arrangements will be made for his extradition back to Memphis, Tennessee. Demarcus Williams has a lengthy violent criminal history and was just reportedly released from prison, earlier this year, after spending almost a decade in prison in the State of Tennessee.
