(5-4-24) The Fort Wayne Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that took place at the food court at the Glenbrook Square Mall this afternoon at around 2:30pm.

Two armed men were involved, but only one did the shooting. One person was shot in a lower extremity and has non-life-threatening injuries.

Another person was hospitalized during the panic that ensued following the shots being fired.

At 3pm FWPD issued an Emergency Alert stating that Glenbrook Mall located at 4201 Coldwater Road, is closed and asking those to avoid the area. Mall officials said that the mall would be closed for the rest of the day and will reopen Sunday at normal business hours.

Brandon D. Key Jr. (22) has been arrested and could be charged with a level 6 felony of criminal recklessness, a level 6 felony of intimidation, and a misdemeanor of resisting law enforcement. The other suspect is still at large.

Officers were still working to clear out the mall just before 4 p.m

This is the third shooting to occur at the mall in the past year…July 8 2023 and another on September 1 that same year.
