(5-1-24) Brianna F. Mason (23) Sidney was charged on Friday in Jay Superior Court with a Level 4 felony for causing death when operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Level 5 felony for reckless homicide, two Level 6 felonies for criminal recklessness and a Class C misdemeanor for operating a vehicle without a driver’s license.

Mason was arrested and booked into the Shelby County (Ohio) Security Center in Ohio, as of this morning she is still there.

The charges stem from a fatal accident about 2:20 a.m. August 14th at the intersection of Indiana 67 and Indiana 26 west of Portland.

Taylor L. LeMaster (20) Berne, died from his injuries from the crash. Two other passengers, Mercedes A. Ryan of Anderson and Araia L. Mullins of Chesterfield, suffered extensive injuries.

Taylor Lewis LeMaster, 20, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born on June 8, 2003 in Bluffton, Indiana.

Taylor loved being outdoors and all outdoor activities, including hunting and fishing. He was an avid bull rider. Taylor also loved working on his truck and motorcycle. He was a bright young man and will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his parents, Mark and Dominique Bales; father, Mitchell LeMaster; siblings, Kelley LeMaster, Jordan LeMaster, Britney LeMaster, Aurora Bales and Astoria Bales; his aunts, Cassey Moore, Brandi Swift and Shayla Butler; his grandparents, Cindy Bales, Gary and Mary Corn, Vicki Butler and George and Lynn Imel; great-grandmother, Jean O’Bryant; also surviving are several other aunts and uncles; along with many cousins.

Taylor was preceded in death by his mother, Debbie LeMaster; grandfather, Kenny Bales; great-grandparents, Janet and Mark Stump and Daniel O’Bryant.
