Eileen Washburn

(4-7-24) A Lakota English teacher, Eileen Washburn, faces termination and is on unpaid leave after calling in sick for two days (February 8th and 9th) to attend a concert in Nashville.

Interim Superintendent Elizabeth Lolli has recommended that the board continue Washburn’s current suspension without pay and then vote to terminate her at their next regularly scheduled meeting on April 22 unless “Washburn files a written demand for a hearing within the time required,” the resolution shows.

Just last year Lakota Schools were in the middle of trying to remove Superintendent Matt Miller. After being accused of several issues by the board and several residents, a private investigation firm found no evidence of any wrongdoing.
