(3-28-24) Over the last few weeks, the Celina FFA Equine and General Livestock teams have been competing at various competitions.
The Equine Management CDE requires students to identify various types of equine tack and equipment, evaluate different types of hay, place 4 classes of western or English horses, as well as take a written exam.

At their first competition at Marysville, they placed 8th overall as a team. The equine team traveled to the Wilmington Invitation, where they placed 12th as a team. Then the equine team continued to the competition held at Indian Lake, they placed 3rd as a team along with Melanie Buschor placing 4th and Alexis Jacobs placing 19th as an individual. Lastly, they competed in the State competition, where they placed 26th as a team.
The General Livestock CDE is a competition where competitors evaluate live sheep, goats, cattle and swine in order to select the best market and breeding animals for different production scenarios.

This year the General Livestock Team traveled to four different General Livestock competitions: Marysville, Wilmington College, Indian Lake, and the Ohio State CDE Contests. At the Aggies General Livestock invitation hosted by Wilmington College, Ava Knapke placed 69th out of 850 individuals. At the State Contest, the general livestock team placed 75th out of 192 teams.
