(3-22-24) On Wednesday at around 4pm Alexa J. Mock (18) Portland was driving a 2009 Mercury Milan north on Indiana 1 near County Road 300 South at what appeared to be a high rate of speed.

Witnesses who were driving south…said that Mock’s vehicle nearly struck them head on. Mock would manage to swerve out of the way, causing her vehicle to go into a field on the east side of the road and would roll several times.

Mock was ejected from the vehicle and sustained an internal back injury and was flown to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

The Jay County Sheriff’s Office was on the scene.
