(3-7-24) Yesterday Van Wert County Common Pleas Court Judge Martin Burchfield sentenced two Rockford residents, Destinee Knittle, and Travis Haynes, after they both changed their pleas to guilty of theft at the Van Wert Walmart.

Destinee Knittle, (42) changed her plea to guilty to an amended charge of theft, a first degree misdemeanor.The sentence handed down was for one year of community control, three days in jail with credit for three days already served and 30 days in jail scheduled for a later date. The sentence required Knittle to have no alcohol or drugs without a prescription, make restitution to Walmart, not to shop at theVan Wert Walmart She was ordered to pay partial appointed counsel fees and court costs.
Travis Haynes (48) changed his plea to guilty to an amended charge of theft, a first degree misdemeanor. He was sentenced to one year of community control, one day in jail with credit for one day already served and 30 days in jail scheduled for a later date. He agreed to possess no alcohol or drugs without a prescription, make restitution to Walmart , not to shop at the Van Wert Walmart, and was ordered to pay court costs.
