UPDATED: A preliminary investigation found that a 15-year-old female operating a 2016 Ford Explorer turned in front of a marked Logan County Sheriff’s Office cruiser while they were responding to an emergency with overhead lights activated.
Both vehicles were traveling north on U.S. Route 68 and the cruiser, driven by Benny Stacey (27) of Bellefontaine, was attempting to pass on the left.
At the time of the crash, the 15-year-old was attempting to turn left at the intersection to head west onto CR 57
The female minor was transported to Mary Rutan Health with minor injuries.
Her passenger, Heath Murphy (44) of Bellefontaine, was transported by MedFlight to Grant Medical Center with serious injuries.
Stacey and his passenger, Zach Sheeley (29) of Bellefontaine, were taken to Mary Rutan Health with minor injuries.
(3-4-24) A two-vehicle, head-on injury crash in Logan County happened yesterday at about 5:15 p.m. on U.S. Route 68 at County Road 57 resulted in four people being transported to area hospitals.

No names have been released at this time of those involved in the crash.
One of the vehicles involved was a Logan County Sheriff’s Office sport utility vehicle.
One person was flown by MedFlight helicopter to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
Other injury victims were taken by squad to area hospitals.
Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating the crash. Logan County Sheriff’s Deputies and squads from Bellefontaine, Indian Lake, and Huntsville assisted at the scene.
The road was closed for more than four hours as a result of the crash.
