(3-1-24) On Monday, February 26th, Vantage Career Center hosted its highly anticipated annual Open House and “Taste of Vantage,” event that showcased the connection of career-tech education and economic growth.

For high school sophomores and their families, the Open House presented a gateway to exploration. They navigated through 19 career tech programs, engaged in conversations with instructors, witnessed demonstrations from current students, and forged connections with local employers and colleges onsite. This experience provided potential students with firsthand insights into the dynamic world of career-tech education and its profound impact on shaping future careers.

Miriam Owens, Community Relations Coordinator, underscored the significance of Career and Technical Education (CTE) as a catalyst for progress.

“Career and Technical Education is forward-thinking, student-centered, innovative, flexible, and expands student options,” remarked Owens. “At Vantage Career Center, we equip both high school and adult students with the resources and skills needed to pursue continued education or in-demand careers.”

In alignment with our commitment to local workforce development, Vantage Career Center’s post-secondary education staff was available for graduating seniors and adults seeking to elevate their careers within the thriving health, manufacturing, and public safety industries. Vantage’s Adult Education staff provided invaluable guidance and resources for potential adult students in their pursuit of professional advancement.

“A Taste of Vantage” was held in the Commons Area during Open House. Seven area restaurants offered delicious samplings of some of their most popular cuisine. Restaurants included; Black Angus on Main, The Moose Landing Country Club, Millie’s Cafe, Corner Deli Market and Catering, Convoy Road Coffee Roasters, Canal Side Burgers and Brew, and the Vantage Culinary Arts program.
