From: Celina Fire Department

(2-19-24) The Celina Fire Department received a call from Mercer County Central Dispatch at 9:10 am on February 19, 2024 reporting a deep fryer explosion, a fire in the kitchen area, and 1 person injured at 129 W. Fayette St. (Shandy’s).

Celina Firefighters responded with 4 personnel, one engine and one ambulance; the fire was quickly brought under control. The business sustained minor damage. One employee was transported to the ER.

The cause of the fire and explosion are being investigated and have yet to be determined.

The State Fire Marshalls office, Dominion Energy, and the Mercer County Health department were all notified of the incident.
