(2-15-24) Tuesday evening at around 6:50 pm the Jay County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of a reported single-vehicle crash.

Jeremy L. Bruggeman (43) Ft. Recovery was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, registered to Cooper Farms of Fort Recovery, east on CR 900 South just west of State Line Road when a deer ran in front of his path. He swerved his vehicle to avoid the animal, causing him to drive off the side of the road and striking an American Electric Power pole.

The impact of the vehicle broke the pole, leaving a portion of it hanging from the power line. The vehicle had to be towed away.

Bruggeman, after refusing treatment at first was later taken to Mercer Health in Coldwater.
