(2-5-24) In Adams County…Marvin S. W. Wickey(19) Berne sustained life-threatening injuries after his horse-drawn buggy was hit by a tractor-trailer.

Around 3:56 a.m. this morning, Issac J. McCuin (53) of Richmond, was driving a tractor-trailer north on U.S. 27, and the horse-drawn buggy driven Wickey pulled out in front of him.

Wickey had been traveling was headed east on CR 700 S and failed to stop at the stop sign, entering the path of McCuin’s vehicle.

Wickey was CareFlighted to Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne and remains in life-threatening condition.

Medics at the scene treated McCuin.

The horse survived the crash.

Adams County Sheriff’s Office was in charge of the crash scene.
