(1-24-24) Nearly 200 years ago a conflict in San Antonio led to a group of Texians to battle for freedom from Mexico and Santa Anna’s troops…a phrase from that was ‘Remember the Alamo’.

Today Texas Governor Greg Abbott decided to again fight for Texas by defying President Biden and the Supreme Court in protecting the border.

This is a letter that he released today.

The constant flow of illegal aliens continues, just like the Alamo… Texas is defying the government.

The crisis has impacted border states…sanctuary cities have been impacted.

The Battle of the Alamo:

  • When and where: March 6, 1836, at the Alamo Mission in San Antonio, Texas.
  • Who: A small Texan force of around 182 men, including William Barret Travis, James Bowie, and Davy Crockett, defending against a much larger Mexican army of 4,000-6,000 men led by President Antonio López de Santa Anna.
  • What happened: After a 13-day siege, the Mexican army stormed the Alamo. The Texans fought bravely but were ultimately defeated, with all but a few defenders killed.
  • Significance: Though a devastating loss for the Texans, the Alamo became a symbol of resistance and sacrifice in the Texas Revolution. The battle cry “Remember the Alamo” inspired Texan forces at the Battle of San Jacinto two months later, which resulted in Texian victory and independence from Mexico.
