UNION CITY (1-10-24) – Mayor Chad Spence of Union City, Indiana, is addressing the community in response to an incident that took place during the city’s Christmas party at Woodcrest Lanes on December 16-17, 2023.
The city immediately launched a thorough investigation into the altercation that occurred at the citywide event. Mayor Spence took swift action in addressing the employees involved after the conclusion of the investigation.
The Union City Ohio Police Department conducted a comprehensive inquiry into the criminal allegations surrounding the incident. Subsequently, charges were submitted to the Darke County Prosecutor’s Office for review. Following the review, it has been determined that Nicholas Wells (22) of Union City, Indiana, will face charges of Disorderly Conduct, a 4th-degree misdemeanor, and Menacing, a 4th-degree misdemeanor.
It must be emphasized that there was no act of public nudity during the event, which has been rumored during the investigation.
In addition to the legal actions, two other employees voluntarily terminated their employment with the City of Union City, Indiana. No further criminal charges will be pursued against any other individuals involved.
