Charles I Gerstorff (30) who escaped from his work detail Monday morning was caught Monday evening.

He was found at an Indianapolis Motel 6 off Shadeland Avenue.

Grant County Indiana Sheriff Garcia wants to make the public aware that this morning, at 7:50 am, an inmate with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office fled from his work-crew detail at the City of Marion Animal Care and Control building next ot the 4H Fairgrounds on State Road 18 (West). This occurred while the supervising Sheriff Deputy was distracted and performing another task. Multiple Grant County Sheriff Deputies responded, but discontinued after a few hours. The escapee, Charles J Gerstorff of Marion, Indiana, now has a warrant for ESCAPE, a level 5 Felony, which has been issued for his arrest by the Honorable Magistrate Brian McLane of Grant County Superior Court II.
