Press Release from the Wapakoneta Police Department:

(1-7-24) At 5:27 am the Wapakineta Police Department was contacted in reference to a shooting incident. Officers and EMS responded and found a 15 year old male with a gun-shot wound. The male was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and he is currently in critical condition. Foul play is not suspected but we are having agents from BCI assist with the investigation.

This investigation is still in the early stages and no other comments will be made at this time. The Wapakoneta High School is planning on having members of their Crisis Intervention Team available to students and staff to help deal with this unfortunate situation.
