(1-3-24) One person has passed way in a Montezuma fire last night at around 9pm. The fire was reported to be at Hecht’s Landing, 8583 State Route 219, Lot#17-B in Montezuma. The trailer was completely destroyed. The victim, Vicki Schumm (65) was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Montezuma Fire Department was assisted by the St Marys Township and Coldwater Fire crews, CareFlight was also called to the scene.

The State Fire Marshall’s Office is assisting with the investigation into the cause of the fire.
