(11-28-23) Mercer County Board of Elections on Monday morning voted unanimously to revoke the voter registration of Benjamin King.

Thomas Sanford, who is a Republican, and was elected during the past election to Celina City Council at the general election, filed a right to vote and correction of registration at the location listed for King’s residence.

King (a registered Democrat) voted early in the November general election and is the brother of Jason King, the Celina City Council president (Republican) and the brother-in-law to State Rep. Angie King (R-Celina).

The issue is from his residence on his registration of living at 115 E. Anthony Street. That address is where he once lived with his family.

King decided not to talk during the hearing. King had been living in Croydon, New South Wales, Australia.

The board members (Democrats Craig Klopfleisch Phil Lonand Republicans Del Kramer and Toni Slusser) unanimously voted that King’s address at 115 E. Anthony Street is not valid and that his voter registration at that address was to be revoked.

Three documents were presented during the hearing-

King was served subpoena papers by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department at a location outside the City of Celina on Oregon Road.
