Obituary

Roy Watts

Roy “Dwayne” Watts, 59, went on to join his heavenly family on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023.

He was born on Dec. 13, 1963, in Versailles, Kentucky, to John Roy Watts Jr. and Gloria Ann Watts Potter.

He was loved and cherished by many people including his daughter, Joann (Rafael) Ruan (Van Wert); son, Dwayne “Sam” Watts (Van Wert), Chad Doster (Toledo, Ohio); his grandchildren, Carmella Arias-Watts, Rosalina Gonzalez-Watts, Abran Ruan, Isabella Ruan, Lilly Meeks and Lakyn Watts; sisters, Ann Watts (Lexington, Kentucky) and Teresa (Doug) Leslie (Lancaster, Kentucky); brothers, John Wesley (Richmond, Kentucky), Dallas Watts (Lexington, Kentucky), Johnathan Watts (Louisville, Kentucky), and Jeffery Watts (Bradstown, Kentucky); along with many friends he adored.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Roy Watts Jr. (Lexington, Kentucky) and Gloria Ann Watts Potter (Paulding, Ohio); along with his maternal grandparents, Juanita and John Harp (Oakwood, Ohio), Charles David “CD” and Louise Wilson (Versailles, Kentucky); paternal grandparents, John Roy Watts Sr. and Grace Marie Watts (Nicholasville, Kentucky); two brothers, Michael K. Potter and Steven B. Watts; and his dog, Bandit.

Dwayne was the life of any party. He lived to make people laugh, including himself. What’s not to love about a man who loved his children and grandchildren — almost as much as he loved having a cold Budweiser, Christmas and riding his Harley with his friends.
