(10-17-23) The St. Henry Branch Library will be having a grand opening for their new Local History – Genealogy Room on Monday, October 30th at 6:30 pm. A generous donation from St. Henry native, Mr. Allen Bernard, has allowed the library to purchase custom cabinetry to house their local history collection. This collection includes St. Henry School yearbooks from 1958 to present day, 1850 and 1860 Ohio census books, birth, marriage, and death records, several local family history compilations, a small Native American artifact collection, local church history documents, and much more.

The library’s collection also includes printed copies of the St. Henry Advocate from May 1907 through December 1909, donated by local historian Joyce Alig. Several local historians have their own published history books in the St. Henry library. Included among them are Bill Lammers, Mary Niekamp, Joyce Alig, and Allen Bernard.
Please visit the St. Henry Branch Library on Monday, October 30th at 6:30 pm for their grand opening, in which they will have a presentation by Pat Naveau from the Mercer County Genealogical Society entitled, “Find Your Ancestors: How to Get Started With Your Family History“. This presentation will cover information for beginners and experienced researchers alike.
