(10-4-23) So what were you doing this afternoon when the National Alert text alert went off 2-minutes early at 2:18pm EST…it was very noisy.

The test was being conducted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in coordination with the Federal Communication Commission. Its purpose was to ensure that the systems in place continue to be an effective means of warning the public about emergencies at a national level.

What reactions did you observe…if you knew about it did it still make you jump with surprise. If you weren’t aware what did the alert do for you. If you were in a store, school or work what happened when the alert went off.

The impact is that the government was able to alert every American cell phone at the same time, according to your language setting it went out in English or Spanish.
